First, it's officially comeback season again!!
This is my theory on why Jungkook doesn't have his wings.
Black winged angels literally means fallen angels. Which might mean, Dark isn’t evil or Good isn’t nice. That can describe their personas. Jungkook isn’t a fallen angel after all, but his hyungs are.
In the Love Yourself highlight reel, Taehyung was in jail, Namjoon disappeared (concealing the truth and knowing that Taehyung is the killer of his father), Jimin committed suicide, Hoseok commits suicide later as well, then Yoongi dies for Jungkook feeling guilty for him - look at how Jungkook is looking at Yoongi in the picture.
Jin being the center in this photo also depicts how he witnessed everything before in the Love Yourself highlight reel. And because of this, he isn’t as pure earning him a black wing - wishing he can turn back time as he “failed” to save everyone (you know how you are responsible too of stopping a crime or when you witness it, something like that).
Truth be told, these situations represents "sins". Which can help represent their black wings as an angel who is cast out of heaven. Maybe that's why they choose a "fallen angel" concept, that can mean dark isn’t evil or good isn’t nice. Which can be an abstract concept of a persona.
Jungkook, above all of it is the purest (even tried to make Yoongi stop from smoking) That’s why he didn’t have wings. His song Euphoria also has a vibe of feeling “heaven”. He isn’t a fallen angel. He is an ANGEL. Since everyone else is “flawed”.
Just a thought: In the first concept photo, Jimin, Hoseok and Yoongi were the ones standing which are the ones who faced death in the highlight reel. They might be elevated from the black hole as their death ended it - they were the ones who "gave up" on their selves.
While Taehyung, Namjoon (which it did not say if he is indeed dead since he disappeared, assuming he is not), Jin and Jungkook were the one's alive in the reel and is sitting in the verge of the pit. If the black hole represents their fears and pasts, they might be taking the plunge into the hole with their conscience and pure intentions of correcting them. As technically, black hole has a strong gravitational acceleration (their desire to correct them) and once someone go into a black hole - he will be left with no trace that even a light cannot escape - means they wanted to leave it all behind. And what if, come prima or going back to the beginning or past meets future (since you cannot change the present and ideally you can maneuver your future based on your past) is the only way for them to correct things. I'm guessing that this is part of their "shadow" pulling them back. Or at least Jin, since he wanted to turn back time and help the members and Jungkook when he figured out about Yoongi's death.
This part on his song may pertain about his hyungs, which is a far-away ocean from him (since they are fallen angels). And the line, “take my hands now” can pertain to him wanting to redeem them. And literally, his hyungs are his euphoria (he said it and how much he loves his hyungs in real life).
This part of his song too can pertain to his hyungs as well, wandering around trying to recall their dreams (black swan reference). Remember Jungkook's favorite quote, "I’d rather die than live without passion". Jungkook must be the only one who have his passion with him all along but his hyungs don’t since it can represent as an erased dream of a “fallen angel” (like maybe how a grim reaper doesn't remember his past at all aka Goblin). Their eyes are pained as to what they have gone thru in the Love Yourself highlight reel looking at the same place as him (they share a common goal, a destiny and Jungkook ended up somewhere else).
This theory might explain why Jungkook don’t have wings. Jungkook is not a fallen angel, he is an ANGEL and if their wings represents their lost dreams and passion, Jungkook haven't lost it - he has it with him ever since.
Jungkook might be their redeemer, or he might be their hope in the coming concepts. He might be the one who will save his hyungs or let the rest of the BTS figure out the world (due to his innocence). He might also be the one who will inspire his hyungs about their passions and as a maknae of the group, who can't say no to our Jungkook-ieee right?
